Fulmar Road Elementary School fourth and fifth grade students gathered in the cafeteria to hear where children's author Daryl Cobb gets his inspirations from for his stories. Cobb gave an enthusiastic presentation, bringing the writing process to life by giving examples of "small moments" and building "story mountains" filled with interesting dialogue between characters. The students were thoroughly engaged and listened intently to every word. He also shared a story he wrote dedicated to Fulmar Road that incorporated the teachers’ names.
After the assembly, Cobb visited each fourth and fifth grade classroom for an inspiring Q&A session, where students expressed their curiosity about how long it takes to publish a book, how many books Cobb writes in a year and how he illustrates his stories.
Overall, it was a great learning experience for the kids and a positive way to show them that they can become authors too.
