Dear Mahopac Community,

I am happy to share that over the last two weeks, our schools held presentations for our students in grades 4 - 12. These presentations focused on understanding the dangers of social media misuse. In addition, we hosted a session for all interested parents/guardians on Wednesday, April 12th at 7 p.m. in the High School auditorium. All of these presentations were delivered by Tom Roidl. Tom has been speaking professionally since 2016, at which time he served as an Investigator in the New York State Police Computer Crime Unit. From then until his NYSP retirement in December of 2021, he presented to over 10,000 people. Topics that will be addressed include Internet safety, social media, cyberbullying, sexting, and internet fraud.

All Mahopac parents and family members were invited to attend the April 12th presentation regardless of your child's age. This is an important topic and I hope you find the information helpful.

Sincerely,

Christine Tona Superintendent of Schools Mahopac Central School District
